J.R. Simplot Company Smoky Canyon Mine:  Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic/Welder The J.R. Simplot Company has openings for a Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic/Welder at its Smoky Canyon Mine west of Afton, WY

Duties include maintenance and repair mobile mine equipment including haul trucks, dozers, drills, graders, electric and hydraulic shovels and other equipment involved in the mining operation. The successful candidate will be experienced in heavy equipment maintenance/welding work in a mining operation. The successful candidate must provide a required list of tools.  (A tool allowance is authorized for this position.)  Must posses the ability to read and understand technical manuals, parts books, drawings, and diagrams of equipment components and systems.  Completion of an accredited course in welding, such as those offered by trade, vocational, or college level programs or an associate’s degree in Diesel Mechanic/Welding is preferred.  Experience with heavy mining equipment, such as Caterpillar equipment, is desired.   The successful candidate will possess good judgment, be flexible, and be able to work in a high stress environment, be a team player and self-starter.
